How the calculations work

No black boxes. Every tool on documents the exact method it uses, so you can check any number against your own institution’s rules. If you find a discrepancy, tell us — a wrong formula is worse than no formula.

Timetable generator

The generator turns your subjects, exam dates, and available hours into a day-by-day plan:

  1. Days remaining per subject = exam date − today, using date-only arithmetic in your local timezone (never timestamps, so daylight-saving transitions cannot shift a day).
  2. Priority weighting. Each subject gets a weight = its priority (1–3) × urgency (1 ÷ days remaining). A high-priority subject with an exam next week outranks a low-priority one a month away.
  3. Session allocation. Study sessions are distributed proportionally to weights, never exceeding your stated hours per day. Overloaded days are flagged, not silently accepted.
  4. Spaced-repetition reviews. Review blocks are auto-inserted at +1, +3, +7, and +14 days after a topic’s first session.
  5. Rest. A rest day is preserved when you request one.

Exam dates in the past and zero available hours are rejected with a plain-language error.

Grade calculator

Grade math is never hard-coded. Every region’s rules live in a versioned configuration file that the calculator reads:

  • Weighted GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ(credits), using the active region’s grade–point mapping.
  • “What do I need on the final?” = (target − (1−w) × current) ÷ w, where w is the final’s weight. If the target is mathematically unreachable, the tool says so plainly instead of showing a number.
  • Percentage ↔ GPA conversions follow the active region’s published formula — never a generic one smuggled in.

Per-region transparency promise: each region config documents its grade–point mapping, pass thresholds, conversion formulas, and the official source it was taken from. Values not yet confirmed against an official source are marked UNVERIFIED and the tool says so. Adding a country means adding one config file — never changing the math.

Per-region formula reference — every formula the calculator uses, every regional trap it guards against, and every estimate it labels, with sources so you can hand-verify any number.

Syllabus coverage tracker

  • Coverage % = (topics marked confident + 0.5 × topics in progress) ÷ total topics, per subject and overall.
  • Pace indicator compares required topics/day (remaining ÷ days left) against your actual topics/day since you started tracking — plain-language “on track” / “behind pace” verdicts.
  • Weakest topics are ranked by exam proximity × low confidence, so revision starts where it matters most.

Exam countdown planner

  • Days left use integer date-only math, recomputed on every load — travelling across timezones cannot corrupt a countdown.
  • Required daily hours = remaining syllabus topics ÷ days left, linked to tracker data when it exists.
